Coffee Shops/Bakery
Casa Costa Bake Shop *****
201 Bagdad Street (not to be confused with Bagdad Road), Leander
Miles: 1.3
A fabulous place with delicious pastries and desserts. They also have fabulous lunches—salads, Brazilian bowl, quiches, etc. They have several gluten free options including the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had.
Hours/Days open: Tues-Sat 6:30 am – 4:00 pm; Sun 9 am – 2 pm
Fine Dining
Farm-To-Fork *****
11880 Old 2243 W. #201, Leander
Miles: .3
Farm-To-Fork is an incredible restaurant serving delicious local fare (including Texas wine) with generous portions. Farm-To-Fork is quite popular (and small) so it might be best to call to see how busy they are if you’re planning dinner there.
Hours/Days open: Tues-Sat 11 am - 2 pm & 5 pm – 8 pm. Closed Sun - Mon
Mouton’s Southern Bistro ****
309 N. Hwy 183, Leander
Miles: 2.1
Great breakfasts and brunches and does a credible job with dinner also. They emphasize Cajun food but there is something on the menu for everyone. Mouton’s also serves Texas wine.
Hours/Days open: Sun-Sat 8 am – 9 pm
Malted Grains *****
1004 Loop 332, Liberty Hill
Miles: 9.6
Easy to get to even if it is in downtown Liberty Hill. Another fabulous restaurant with delicious food and generous portions. It’s hard to get past the appetizers—they are so good (and filling) there usually isn’t any room for anything else. Malted Grains has great wine also even though it is from a California winery. It is a straight shot down Bagdad Road.
Hours/Days open: Tues-Fri 11 am – 8 pm; Sat 9 am – 8 pm; Sun 9 am – 2 pm. Closed Monday
Mexican Restaurants
Our local restaurants are pretty much Tex-Mex fare so you can expect good margaritas but probably not fine wine or craft brews.
Jardine Del Rey ****
703 S. Hwy. 183, Leander
Miles: 2.3
Jardine’s has quite a few specialty items and great fajitas. Their sister restaurant is in Liberty Hill and usually less crowded with no wait. Pretty much the same owner and same menu.
Hours/Days open: Mon-Thur 11 am – 10 pm; Fri 11 am – 11 pm; Sat 8 am – 10 pm; Sun 8 am – 9 pm
La Tapatia ***
651 Hwy 183, Leander
Miles: 2.2
I must confess I have not been here since they moved from their 183 location. They have a loyal following and even though they are located in a strip center (near HEB) with the kind of ambiance you can expect from a strip center location, they seem to be as busy as ever. Reasonably priced Tex-Mex food.
Days/Hours: Mon-Sat 7 am – 10 pm; Sun 7 am – 9 pm.
Maria’s
107 N. Hwy 183, Leander
Miles: ?
Used to be La Tapatia before they moved and basically took 2-3 years of renovation before opening. A convenient location and seems equally as busy as La Tapatia which is rumored to have the same owner. Have not eaten there yet.
Hours/Days open:
Mayitos
1005 S. Hwy 183, Leander
Miles: 2.4
Have never eaten there but it seems to be well attended. It has been a succession of different restaurants over the years—apparently the rents get raised on a frequent basis.
Days/Hours open: Tues-Thurs 7 am – 8 pm; Fri-Sat 7 am - 9 pm; Sun 7 am - 6 pm; Closed Mon
Barbeque
Smokey Mo’s ***

Days/Hours open: Mon-Sat 7 am – 9 pm; Sun 8 am – 8 pm

Leander Beer Market *****
106 W. Willis, Leander
Miles: 2.1
Dog friendly with a covered patio the Leander Beer Market has delicious local craft beer with rotating taps. You are bound to find something you like. If not, you can choose from the more than 300 different bottles they keep in their cooler. Justin and Lil are incredibly knowledgeable about what they pour and truly enjoy their jobs. Food with an Italian influence is available including amazing gluten free pizzas.
Days/Hours: Mon-Wed 4 pm – 10 pm; Thur 4 pm – 12 am; Fri-Sat 12 pm – 12 am; Sun 12 pm – 10 pm
