Agility seminars with Laurren Zimmerman - March 6-8, 2020

Laurren Zimmerman has been running agility competitively for almost 8 years now. She shares her home currently with 5 wonderful dogs: a 13 y/o labrador Ace, 8 y/o BC Clutch, 2 y/o BC Dublin, 1 y/o BC Savage and 1 y/o Alaskan husky Denali.

Laurren is a Handling 360 graduated handler and alumni. Most of her current handling is verbal based, but she has also worked with multiple One Mind Dogs handlers in the past - which gives her a firm understanding of body positioning and motion cues. She only uses positive reinforcement for all of her dogs, as it is especially critical during agility training.

Since starting to compete, she has won several regional championships including the 'triple crown' at the Canadian USDAA regional in 2017 at 24". She has qualified for and placed in several National rounds and finals in USDAA and UKI, including winning the UKI National Speedstakes Championship in 2018.

    Friday 3/6
    9am-5pm: Masters Skill Work - $185 - Working spots full, wait list only
    -This particular seminar will focus on individual skills - backsides, threadles, serpentines, and side dependent turns - when to use them and how to cue them appropriately. The first half of the day will be spent learning how to teach these skills individually. The second half of the day will be spent working drills on how to apply the skills and grow them on course! This is open to all dogs and handlers who are looking to improve their skills on individual techniques. No dogs under 12 months.

    Saturday 3/7
    9am-1pm: Jumping Skills - $135 - Working spots full, wait list only
    -Laurren will take us through a series of jumping exercises and grids to help teach proper jumping mechanics and form. The workshop will cover lines into tunnels, tunnel exits to jumps and jump grid type exercises. Dogs should be at least 8 months old with a preference to dogs who have reached 1 year of age.

    Saturday 3/7
    2pm-6pm: Foundation Sequencing - $135 - Working spots full, wait list only
    In the afternoon, Laurren will take us through her fun sequencing games to help teach young or inexperienced dogs about finding lines, incorporating turns, and building the teamwork between dog and handler! Bars can be low or on the ground to help the dogs gain the best possible understanding. Dogs should be at least 12 months old.

    Sunday 3/8
    9am-5pm: Masters Handling - $185 - 10 working spots
    -Need help on your handling - finding and supporting the appropriate lines, learning which side of the jump to cue for tighter turns and faster times & also finding ways to improve your overall performance as a team? Well, this one is for you! Come learn on multiple fun sequences how to cue your dog for the best possible understanding and performance. This is a course focusing on mostly the handler and how to improve handling/running, with less focus on individual dog skills. Open to all handler and dog teams - dogs must be over 12 months and have a general idea of how to run courses.​

    Auditing spots
    Auditing spots are unlimited and available for each seminar. Auditors can observe, walk courses, and ask questions.
    Auditing spots are $60 each.
